The Oriental Crohn's Disease and Colitis Foundation (OCCF) is a non-profit organization that helps IBD doctors obtain professional training through free funding or in-kind sponsorship to improve the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD); help patients obtain disease knowledge and patient education to ultimately improve the quality of life of patients with IBD. The foundation will be based in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, radiating to the Asia-Pacific region, providing clinical and basic research support networks for IBD experts, and exchanging experiences and knowledge of IBD with experts in developed regions of the world through online and physical resources. Registered in Hong Kong in April 2019, the Foundation is committed to providing better treatment options for patients with IBD, and promoting joint research on IBD in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. The establishment of the OCCF has positive significance for the domestic IBD academics and patients.
